Abra
Ntl. Dex #063
Type: Psychic
Abilities: Synchronize/Inner Focus
Height: 2’11”
Weight: 43.0 lbs
Abra, the Psi Pokemon, is a bipedal, tailed Pokémon that loosely resembles a fox. It has two short, fox-like ears on the top of its head, and in the middle of its face, it has two eyes that are usually seen shut. It has a somewhat lighter color around its nose and mouth. Abra looks like it is wearing armor, as it has two pauldron-shaped pieces on its shoulders and a fauld-like piece around its chest. It, like its evolutionary relatives, has three fingers on each hand, although much stubbier, and three toes, two in the front on either side, and one in the back near the ankle. Its tail is thick and is the same gold color as the rest of its body, except for the brown band that is located around the top of the tail.
Possessing the ability to read minds, Abra can sense danger. When it does, it usually teleports in order to escape danger. It has been observed that once every hour, it will teleport to another location. By hypnotizing itself, it can send itself into sleep and be able to teleport while doing so. If it decides to teleport randomly, it creates the illusion of multiple copies. However, it can sometimes know some of the attacks its evolved forms know (although, they would not be as strong). It also has the ability to levitate over water (though it cannot avoid moves like Earthquake). Although Abra will usually flee when it is in apparent danger, they do have the ability to learn many attacks, both physical and special.
Abra spend 18 hours a day sleeping. If they do not obtain enough sleep, they are unable to utilize its teleportation and telekinetic abilities. Despite this, Abra is capable of attacking while asleep; however, Abra usually avoid fighting by using Teleport to escape.
Abra live in urban areas, close to humans. Mostly they are found in abandoned buildings left to disrepair. Due to these habits, they are very widespread, found in Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh.

Poliwag
Ntl. Dex #060
Type: Water
Abilities: Water Absorb/Damp
Height: 2’00”
Weight: 27.3 lbs
Poliwag, the Tadpole Pokemon, resembles a blue, spherical tadpole. It has large eyes, a pink mouth, and a long, mostly transparent tail. It has newly developed legs that still are not used to walking. Poliwag’s most famous feature is the black and white swirl on its abdomen, which is actually its innards showing through its semitransparent skin. The swirl looks clearer after it eats, and the skin is very elastic so that it will not break if the Pokémon is bitten. The direction of the belly spiral differs by area, with the equator being thought to have an effect on this.
Along with the standard Water-related abilities, it is capable of making its opponent drowsy with Hypnosis. Its skin is also very damp, making it very slippery and therefore difficult to get hold of. Their Speed stat is above average, allowing them to evade shots of electricity quickly. Their tail can also be used for attacks like DoubleSlap, Belly Drum, andWake-Up Slap, with the latter being fairly strong after a Hypnosis.
They are more likely found swimming than on dry land. If they are startled, they immediately run away.
Poliwag can be found in small freshwater ponds and lakes that have an abundance of lily pads, as well as along the banks of tropical rivers. It is a common sight in Kanto and Johto, but can be found in Sinnoh and Unova as well. In Unova, they are most notably found in bodies of water within caves.
Poliwag feed on salveyo weed, which can only be found on clear lake bottoms.
Poliwag evolves into Poliwhirl at level 25.

Growlithe
Ntl. Dex #058
Type: Fire
Abilities: Intimidate/Flash Fire
Height: 2’04”
Weight: 41.9 lbs
Growlithe, the Puppy Pokemon, is a quadruped, canine Pokémon. It has a short, rounded muzzle, a small, fluffy tail, a tuft of fur on top of its head, and rounded ears. It has bright orange fur with black stripes over its back and on its forelegs. Its belly, tail, and fluff on top of its head are a cream color. Its nose is shiny black, while the insides of its ears are like brown. Unlike its evolution, Growlithe has two claws on its forepaws, and its paw pads are brown (instead of pink).
Growlithe can spit fire. It has a powerful sense of smell to identify the emotions of others. Upon getting a scent, it will not forget it, no matter what. However, strong, unpleasant smells can disable their sense of smell for short periods.
Extremely loyal, this Pokémon fiercely defends its Trainer and territory.
Growlithe live in active volcanoes, grassy plains, and scorched plains heated by geothermal energy. Its native range includes Kanto and Johto, but it can be found in Sinnoh on some occasions. In captivity, they’re often used as police dogs due to their loyal nature and powerful sense of smell. They’re also seen occasionally as pets.
It is often found with Rawst Berries.
Growlithe evolves into Arcanine when exposed to a Fire stone.

Mankey
Ntl. Dex #056
Type: Fighting
Abilities: Vital Spirit/Anger Point
Height: 1’08”
Weight: 61.7 lbs
Mankey ,the Pig Monkey Pokemon, though presumed to be partly named after humans, bears almost no resemblance to them. Mankey more resembles other various primates. It is a tailed, bipedal Pokémon with a round body covered in whitish, messy fur. Mankey’s ears are triangular with brown insides, and its arms, two-toed feet, and its curved tail is tipped with brown coloration. Mankey has a nose similar to a pig’s snout.
Mankey specialize in physical fighting, but they can sometimes know elemental attacks (though they don’t usually excel at them).
Mankey are very aggressive and short-tempered. Anyone that gets on its bad side (which is easily done), will receive a severe thrashing. When Mankey starts shaking and its nasal breathing turns rough, it is a sure sign that it is becoming angry. However, because it goes into a towering rage almost instantly, it is impossible for anyone to flee its wrath. Mankey lives in treetop colonies, and if one becomes enraged, the whole colony rampages for no reason. If Mankey loses sight of its colony, it becomes infuriated by its loneliness.
The preferred food appears to be bananas and chestnuts, although Mankey usually lack the dexterity to peel them. They are also occasionally found with the Payapa Berry. Mankey can be found in vibrant forests, in mountains, or in valleys with rivers running through them.
They are most common in Kanto, but can also be found in Johto. Although they are rarer there, they also inhabit Sinnoh and Unova.
Mankey evolves into Primape at level 28.

Golduck
Ntl. Dex #055
Type: Water
Abilities: Damp/Cloud Nine
Height: 5’07”
Weight: 168.9 lbs
Golduck, the Duck Pokemon is the evolved form of Psyduck. They have webbed hands and feet, ending in broad flippers, which they use to swim in rivers and lakes, much in the way as a duck would move. Their blue bodies are especially adapted to have a great hydrodynamic shape, and they have long tails with which they use to steer. Golduck are sometimes mistaken for the Japanese monster Golduck, the Kappa due to their bluish color, general body shape, and webbed hands and feet. Golduck also have red irises, a small, red sphere on their forehead, and four spikes on their head. Although Golduck have no wings, only webbed hands and feet, it is still deemed a duck instead of a platypus.
Golduck are fast swimmers, out-swimming even the most athletic of humans because of their frog-like webbed hands and feet. The gem on their foreheads glows when they use their psychic powers, and occasionally when they swim at full speed, suggesting that they sometimes use those powers to swim. After evolving from Psyduck, Golduck have greater control of their powers. They have the ability to read minds or even give knowledge to their Trainers and fellow Pokémon through telepathy.
It has been noted that Golduck will often join swimmers when training. They are sometimes found rescuing people lost at sea from danger, their heads shimmering from the telekinetic powers that allow them do so. The headaches that ridiculed its Basic evolution form, Psyduck, don’t trouble Golduck, allowing them to have full use of their formidable mental powers.
Golduck live in freshwater lakes and in rivers, though they can also be seen occasionally in coastal waters. They can be found in Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh.

Psyduck, the Duck Pokemon, resembles a yellow duck or platypus with a vacant stare. It has three small tufts of black hair at the top of its head. It walks on its hind legs, has a stubby tail, and has arms rather than wings. Its arms are useful in using its powerful psychic abilities. Its appearance, according to the Pokédex, is meant to trick enemies into thinking it is weak. It has arms with three claws on each to deliver scratches if threatened.
Psyduck is constantly stunned by its headache. It usually stands immobile, with a vacant expression, trying to calm its headache. However, when its headache becomes too severe, it releases tension in the form of strong psychic powers.
Psyduck are usually unable to think very clearly due to having a chronic headache. Because of the headache, a Psyduck will always hold its head. When these headaches worsen, Psyduck may use psychic powers.
Psyduck live in freshwater lakes, small ponds, or rivers in tropical areas. It is a widespread Pokémon common in Kanto,Johto, and Sinnoh. It has also been imported to the Hoenn Safari Zone.

Ntl. Dex #052
Type: Normal
Abilities: Pickup/Technician.
Height: 1’04”
Weight: 9.3 lbs
Meowth, the Scratch Cat Pokemon, has a feline appearance, resembling a small house cat. While a few have the ability to walk on two legs, most Meowth are quadrupeds. It has cream-colored fur, which turns brown at its paws and tail tip. Its oval-shaped head features four prominent whiskers, no nose, black-and-brown ears, and a glimmering gold oval coin (also known as a “charm”) embedded in its forehead. Like Persian and “real-life” cats, Meowth is capable of retracting the claws on its fore- and hind-paws and bringing them out again when needed.
Meowth are valued for their ability to collect coins using Pay Day, as they are the only Pokémon that learn it. Meowth are also capable of dealing relatively powerful scratching attacks like Fury Swipes or Night Slash.
Meowth are very fond of anything round and shiny. As such, they have been known to wander about city streets and pick up anything that is round and shiny—coins in particular. Although they are apparently not nocturnal, they spend most of the daytime napping. Meowth are considered rivals of Murkrow, because Murkrow are also known for stealing round and shiny objects and these two Pokémon have been known to steal from each other’s hordes.
Wild Meowth tend to live in groups in urban areas.
Meowth usually live in towns and cities. They can also occasionally be found in vibrant forests or near beaches. It is normally native to Kanto and Johto, with some rare appearances in Sinnoh.
Meowth is a carnivore. However, Meowth have been seen eating fruit, which could indicate that it is also an omnivore.
